RackSpace Setup

- If you don't already have RackSpace cloud account, sign up for servers and cloud files at https://www.rackspacecloud.com/signup. Also refer to the video on deploying and managing applications on the Rackspace cloud using IMOD.
- After logging in IMOD go to the profile page and click on RackSpace link under Providers on the left hand side, see figure below. Pick a unique name for the account, e.g. RAX-Prod and enter username and Api key for the RackSpace account. Refer to the next step for information on how to get the RackSpace Access key and username. After entering the access key please make sure there is no space in the end and key and account username for RackSpace are entered properly. Click on the Create button to save the account setup.

- Login to RackSpace Cloud at https://manage.rackspacecloud.com/pages/Login.jsp. After logging in using the navigation on the left hand side click on API Access, after clicking on the API access if you don't already have the API key you can generate the API key or if you already have the API key, click on show key and copy the key and paste in the Access Key text box in IMOD for the RackSpace account. See figure below for reference

Note:When you launch RackSpace server/s from IMOD, the username and password for the server is stored in encrypted format in IMOD and it is deleted after the server is terminated. RackSpace issues a new password for every server at the launch time, after the server is terminated the password is no longer valid. IMOD automatically take cares of password management by getting the password and storing it during the life of the server in encrypted format in the IMOD database.
