Bundle Windows Image on EC2

Windows Pre-Bundling Instructions Please perform the following steps on the image before bundling

• Delete “C:\WINDOWS\system32\GroupPolicy\Machine\Scripts\Startup\ksysrestart.txt”
• Open “C:\kaavo\copSSH\home\Administrator\.ssh\authorized_keys” file and delete all the content of the file but don’t delete the file
• Please Goto “Ec2Service Setting” by clicking on windows “START” button.
• Uncheck the “Sysprep” , otherwise n-tier will not be able to configure your server

Windows EBS Pre-Bundling Instructions for EBS

• Delete “C:\WINDOWS\system32\GroupPolicy\Machine\Scripts\Startup\ksysrestart.txt”
• Open “C:\kaavo\copSSH\home\Administrator\.ssh\authorized_keys” file and delete all the content of the file but don’t delete the file

Firewall Rule Changes for WINDOWS 2008 and Higher

• Open Windows Firewall setup , click on Start>"Administrative Tools">"Windows Firewall and Advance Security"

• Open port 22, 10051 10052

Windows Bundle Process

• Please select the instance which you want to bundle
• Click on “Bundle ” button
• Then please populate following fields
  • Private keypair : Please put your AWS private key here
  • Certificate : Put your X509 certificate here
  • Launch key pair : Put the launch key here (key you have used for launch the instance )
  • Image name  : Please write your image name at “Image name” box
  • Architecture : Please select your server architecture
• Then click on submit

The bundling process may will take around 20 – 25 minutes depending upon the instance, IMOD will inform you through email notification, in case email missing, you can also search the images from Dashboard page by its name. (Also, make sure that the “All” tab has been selected while you are searching.) Figure 2: Creating Bundle on EC2
